I like to be left happy or optimistic at the end of a story - please, no bitter or sad endings. Also nothing cracky. I am usually a stickler for canon, and attached to the settings as much as the characters, so avoid AUs/fusions, etc, unless I have specifically asked otherwise. I also prefer fics with some action or interaction, rather than ones that are just one character reflecting/introspecting. Finally, please don't write any ships that break up canon ships unless I have specifically asked otherwise.

A Civil Contract - Georgette Heyer
Characters: Adam Deveril Viscount Lynton, Jenny Chawleigh, Jonathan Chawleigh, Lady Nassington (A Civil Contract) (ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS but not all must appear in the fic)
I enjoy all these characters. I know it's a slightly controversial Heyer novel for how it lands the central romance, but it's actually one of my favourites for its approach to that. It says that that romance doesn't always have to be huge and sweeping, and that it doesn't have to be the only relationship of importance in your life. That love can take many forms.
I would enjoy fic about any or all of these characters, solo or interconnecting, pre or post-canon. I do ship Jenny and Adam, so please don't split them up! Shippy fluff is always welcome. Curtainfic/domestic fluff would be delightful - I always loved the peeks at how Jenny is bringing the house back to life with TLC and the servants. I would equally enjoy a story on a larger scale - Mr Chawleigh and Adam working as business partners together on agricultural projects, for instance, or their differing approaches to politics of the day. For Lady Nassington, I love how she supported Jenny instantly, but I think it was a pragmatic decision - Jenny is one of the family now, and Lady N will protect the family. But how does Lady N feel about Jenny personally, as the years go by?
Blue Castle - L. M. Montgomery
Characters: Barney Snaith, Valancy Stirling (BOTH must appear in the fic)
I only discovered this novel in 2023, but it's quickly become a deeply-beloved read. I enjoy all the characters, from the bit parts to our hero and heroine. I enjoy the deep love of nature that shines through. I love Valancy claiming the right to live her life, and deciding who she does and doesn't want in her life.
Although a look at their post-canon lives would be amazing (do they have the babies Valancy hoped for? what's it like, living with Dr R? do any of the Sterlings try to come visit?), I would also equally enjoy missing bits in the canon timeline for the couple. Valancy and Barney's early acquaintance while Valancy is with Cissie; or time in their "blue castle" on the island ... Barney teaching Valancy how to use the boat, Valancy practising cooking on him ...
Guns of the Dawn - Adrian Tchaikovsky
Characters: Cristan Northway, Emily Marshwic (BOTH must appear in the fic)
Gah, these two. What a fascinating pair. What they've been through already, and what they'll have to go through in the aftermath of the war! I would enjoy character-centred fic (romantic, if you want!) but also plotty, or worldbuilding-focused. Happy to see any other canon characters brought in, too! The canon intrigues me with its exploration of war, trauma, cause and effect, right and wrong, understanding and misunderstanding, lies and truth. I enjoy the flavours of sweetness and humour and rage and growth and miscommunication and appreciation that weave throughout how Cristan and Emily relate to each other. How do they build their relationship in the post-war period? Though I imagine them clinging to each other, they are not easy people and I don't think their relationship would be exactly easy, either, however much happiness it brought.
I have a hard time thinking of specific prompts for this, apologies! I have only read it twice and it's still "settling down in my head" (as it seems to me). As long as you don't hit my DNWs, I am sure I will like any story you write. :)
White Boots - Noel Streatfeild
Characters: Harriet Johnson, Lalla Moore (BOTH must appear in the fic)
As a child I adored this book, and it still holds huge nostalgia for me. Where are Harriet and Lalla going in life? Are they going to skate forever? Might they discover other interests? What might draw them apart - or together even closer - in adulthood? Though other characters from the book aren't in the tagset, I'd also be intrigued to see what happens with Harriet's and Lalla's families. And although my thoughts are mostly with their future, I'd also be happy to see something from the canon timeline, too. I love the now-period vibe of the books - this world of governesses and spare food being shipped from an estate in the countryside - so if you enjoy those kind of details too, please indulge.
NB: I don't actively ship them, but I'm open to something exploring that idea if you'd like!
The Tales of Einarinn - Juliet E McKenna
Allin Mere, Temar D'Alsennin
I am happy to receive fic that only focuses on one of these characters.
I love these two, and not just because I ship them. They are two people who are so very far from their beginnings, who can never go back, and have to do their best with that. It’d be lovely to see something about them at any point from canon onwards. If you're going for gen, I'm happy for the fic to focus more on one character than the other. Does Allin ever see her family again? (does Temar ever meet them? Could be some great culture clash there.) What were her first months in Hadrumal like? Or it'd be fascinating to gain some insight into the difficult time for Temar between the end of The Swordsman's Oath and the beginning of The Warrior's Bond, during the second establishment of the colonists.
Or I'd also be delighted if you wrote Temar/Allin. Maybe a proposal scene, or an admitting-feelings scene. Their first times doing various things together. Pick any moment from their relationship that you fancy exploring! Working together as a team on a problem or adventure. Temar helping Allin learn/define her social role as Maitresse. Her teaching him more about the modern world. Becoming parents. Doing magic together. Curtainfic of a colony-building kind.
And if you want to add bits of worldbuilding about Kellarin and its canonical present and its possible future, please do - one of my favourite things about this series is the worldbuilding, the sense of a place where time and history really do change things. It’s a busy, diverse and changing world filled with busy, diverse and changing people who all are living their own lives and ambitions as best they can.
